Beyond Expectations organizes several annual ON TOUR incentives that are open for registration to everyone. These unique trips can range from golf trips and rallies to culinary adventures led by a renowned chef, at various destinations around the world. ON TOUR is accessible to a broad audience and offers an excellent opportunity to invite your own contacts and network with other participants. When assembling the groups, we always pay attention to mutual compatibility, so that everyone has an optimal experience. Moreover, we are open to specific requests and can accommodate them if desired. Enjoy an unforgettable journey filled with new connections and inspiring experiences.
Program
We depart from Schiphol Airport to Bergen in Norway. Since everyone arrives at Schiphol in different ways, we have chosen to meet at the gate. This allows everyone to manage their time as they wish.
DEPARTURE FROM AMSTERDAM SCHIPHOL!
Upon arrival, we will be picked up by a private transfer to our hotel, Opus XVI. After checking in, we will have plenty of time to acclimatize.
Opus XVI, an Edvard Grieg Heritage Hotel, is housed in a historic building dating back to 1876. This luxury hotel is located in the center of Bergen and features uniquely decorated rooms and suites. Guests can enjoy a Norwegian breakfast buffet and admire the exhibition in the accommodation. Broadband WiFi is available free of charge in all areas. All rooms have a seating area, a flat-screen TV and a tablet for personal use. The private bathrooms have underfloor heating and a walk-in rain shower. A minibar with drinks and snacks, a safe and a spacious wardrobe are also provided. Guests can enjoy lunch or dinner in the on-site restaurant. Afternoon tea is served on Saturdays. The restaurant offers many local fish dishes, as well as vegetarian and vegan options. In the spacious lobby you will also find a bar and an art exhibition by local artists. From June to August, you can enjoy lunch concerts at the hotel for a surcharge. Restaurants, bars, shops, the fish market and Bryggen are all within a few minutes' walk. Bergen Central Station is 700 meters away. A parking service is available.
At 7:15 PM, we walk towards the Floibanen, Norway's only funicular, for dinner at the Floirestauranten. This 100-year-old restaurant overlooks Bergen and the bay and guarantees a spectacular opening to this trip. After dinner, we return to the hotel via the Funicular.
How to reach the top of Fløyen: Take the Fløibanen funicular from Bergen city center to the top of Fløyen. The restaurant is located right next to the funicular and offers stunning views of the city and the Bergen region. The Fløibanen valley station is just a few minutes' walk from the Fish Market. The funicular takes you to the top in about 6 minutes. Are you organizing an event in the restaurant? The Fløibanen funicular runs until all guests are back in the city center.
The hundred-year-old restaurant on the top of Fløyen has been completely renovated! Fløirestauranten is the place where memories are made and shared. The brasserie has an informal, cozy atmosphere with delicious local dishes. In Peisestuen you can enjoy a delicious cocktail. Celebrate the many events of life in ToppFløyen. Put on your best clothes and discover a 10-course sensory menu at Schou. Or enjoy the terrace with its great views and a refreshing drink or snack.
The menus pay tribute to what the mountains and fjords have to offer each season. Raw ingredients sourced locally. Nature and culture come together on our plates. With love, knowledge, and craftsmanship, we aim to bring joy and inspiration by creating wonderful dining experiences.
On the first day of our Norwegian expedition, we get off to a great start. We are picked up to go fishing in the fjords. The area is not only known for salmon, but also for crab fishing. With our daily fresh catch, our chef Hans, followed by Daan, will prepare a delicious lunch for you.
We are going on a guided fishing trip west of Sotra. Our local guide will take you to the best fishing spots near the North Sea. Enjoy the fresh air while fishing for lobster, crab, cod or salmon. At the end of the afternoon, Hans** will prepare a delicious lunch from the catch.
After lunch, we will take a private transfer to Scalmarin. Scalmarin has been supplying top-quality fish, shellfish, and seafood products for many years. They are known for their fresh local products, with sustainability being a high priority. After this visit, we will return to the hotel and have time to freshen up before dinner.
At 7:30 PM, we walk to the harbor where we take a boat to Cornelius restaurant for dinner. Cornelius restaurant is known for its seafood and is located on the water. After a beautiful evening, we will calmly return to the hotel to prepare for the day ahead.
Just outside Bergen you will find one of the most exotic attractions of the entire West Norwegian archipelago. Cornelius is one of Norway's best seafood restaurants. It is located directly on the sea on a small island with spectacular views of the fjord, the mountains, the archipelago and passing boats and ships. Inspired by the weather of the day, Cornelius serves his famous Meteorological Menu with exquisite seafood dishes and side dishes, prepared with innovative culinary techniques and with a genuine passion for fish. Cornelius is open all year round.
On beautiful summer days, we open the sliding doors and set tables on the pier, where we serve lighter dishes. In less favorable weather, we create a cozy atmosphere inside and serve dishes with stronger flavors, lighting the candles and the fireplace. Every season - every day - we offer unique and exciting culinary experiences at Holmen.
Experience a wonderful trip between the archipelago, from the quay of Bryggen in Bergen to Holmen near Bjoroy. Regular departures at 6:00 PM from Dreggekaien on Bryggen (shed no. 8), opposite the Radisson Blu Royal Hotel and the Clarion Collection Hotel Havnekontoret. Return from Holmen at 10:30 PM. The boat trip takes 25 minutes. Warm, safe boats will take you back and forth comfortably, regardless of the weather. Contact us if you would like to rent a private boat. During the summer months we have regular departures for lunch on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays.
Anyone who thought this would be a lazy trip is wrong. Today we are going diving for fresh Coquilles. In the cold, clear water we will search for these fantastic shellfish in special diving suits. The catch is prepared ashore by Hans and served as a delicious lunch.
We are guests at Nemo Diving Bergen. Here we will be diving for scallops. Bergen Bay is one of the most nutritious areas for the growth of wild scallops. A unique experience you will never forget.
After returning to the harbor, we go straight back to the hotel. While you enjoy a hot shower or bath, Hans** rushes into the kitchen to prepare a lunch that is hard to beat in terms of freshness.
You have the opportunity to explore Bergen in peace and quiet, whether in an organized setting or simply to enjoy a well-deserved siesta!
At 6:45 p.m., we walk to Lysverket restaurant. This Michelin-starred restaurant is run by chef Christopher Haatuft. Around 10:30 p.m., we walk back to the hotel.
This stylish restaurant, located in the KODE 4 art museum, overlooks Lake Lille Lungegårdsvannet. Chef-owner Christopher Haatuft, who is larger than life, passionately oversees the entire operation, serves dishes and maintains the connection with guests. The 10-course tasting menu is based on fantastic Norwegian products, including always scallops that Christopher's good friend has caught nearby. The dishes have a fresh look and allow the main ingredient to come into its own.
On this last day in Bergen, we take you to the Iris restaurant. A long-cherished wish of Hans is thus fulfilled. We take our own boat through the Fjords to the restaurant where we are met by Anika Madsen's brigade.
So much has already been said and written about this restaurant and the reviewers run out of superlatives. After this great experience, we will return to Bergen in groups of 4 by ..... helicopter. This flight goes over the water along the Fjords and contributes to the fact that we will never forget Bergen.
This restaurant offers one of the most stunning dining opportunities you will find and is housed in a shimmering floating structure known as "Salmon Eye". Located in the Hardangerfjord, it is accessible via a short boat trip from Rosendal and offers the opportunity to have lunch with an unparalleled view over the fjord. The technical skill of the kitchen is reflected in dishes that use plucked and sometimes unsightly products, such as lumpsucker and Norwegian cuttlefish. This is a truly unique experience.
In the evening, we will have informal drinks and snacks at the hotel, where we will review our experiences.
Unfortunately, this Norwegian adventure also comes to an end. After breakfast we will be taken to the airport for the flight to Schiphol.

How to register
You may register for this incentive below. During registration, please indicate whether you will be attending alone or with additional participants. This automatically implies that if you register as a team, for example, you will also play golf and be seated for dinner with these individuals every day. (You are, of course, always free to choose otherwise) Please indicate under “are you bringing extra people” if this applies.
Upon registration, you will automatically receive a payment request for 25% of the total travel cost. This amount is non-refundable in the event of cancellation and serves as a guarantee to the organization of your participation. The remaining balance will be charged via an invoice that you will receive, which will also include information regarding the second installment and the due date.
